Step into the heart of nature within the city as we welcome students to Urban Orchard KL’s Volunteering Day — Student Edition. Immerse yourself in lush greenery, vibrant flora, and soothing natural sounds as you learn, explore, and contribute to Kuala Lumpur’s first urban orchard initiative. Discover the incredible biodiversity thriving in our urban ecosystem while gaining hands-on experience in sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. Event Details: Opening Days: Monday – Sunday Time: 8:00AM – 11:00AM (3 hours) Venue: Urban Orchard Kuala Lumpur (UOKL) Eligibility: Form 5 & 6 students, college & university students Entrance Fee: RM35 per student Items Provided: Wellington boots, pruning scissors (secateurs) Refreshments: Mee Goreng + UOKL Gelato + Bottled Water Booking Requirement: Yes — Minimum 15 pax, maximum 45 pax per session Why Attend: This programme offers students a unique opportunity to take a break from city life and reconnect with nature. Students will gain first-hand experience in urban farming, sustainability, and biodiversity through educational and interactive activities, including: > Pruning fruit trees > Sweeping leaves & orchard maintenance > Catch-and-release fish activity (weather-permitting) > Environmental & river ecosystem briefing (weather-permitting) > Students will walk away with valuable knowledge — from food systems and biodiversity to environmental care and community service. Participant Waiver By participating in the UOKL Volunteering Day — Student Edition, all students acknowledge and agree that: Urban Orchard Kuala Lumpur (UOKL), its management, and staff shall not be held responsible or liable for any accidents, injuries, losses, or damages to personal belongings or individuals during the programme. Students participate voluntarily and at their own risk. Participants are required to follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by UOKL representatives at all times. Safety is our priority, and we will provide guidance and equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
